How difficult is it to repair a master cylinder on a Suzuki motorcycle/motorbike? I've recently bought a brake master cylinder repair kit (front) for my Suzuki TL1000r motorbike. Can anyone tell me if this is a difficult job to do. I am reasonably handy with a tool (of the metal variety that is!!! lol) Thanks

Suzuki motorbike makes grinding noise when no power applied and in gear. Any ideas? Suzuki GS500e makes a rhythmic grinding sound when depowered in gear. It doesn't happen whilst in neutral or with the clutch engadged. I've adjusted the chain tension but this hasn't resolved matters. Any one have any ideas what is causing it and how to stop it? I have a125cc Suzuki Sand Motorbike in original running order has Longreach CUB on it.. how much is it worth? CUB stands for Castlemaine United Breweries so may have been used as a promotional motorbike at some stage, I have no idea how old it is (maybe 30-40yrs - definitely a classic) but have never seen another like it. It has really fat tyres and everything works (it's light green in colour) awesome looking machine.

I am torn between 2 motorbikes, which would be better for me? I am 20 and I passed my CBT on the 2nd june (1st time!) - I will admit i am a novice on motorbikes. motorbike suzuki rm 1996, no compression in kick start? the motorbike was working at one point and then just died whilst riding it and would not restart, changed the sparkplug there is a spark from it when you kick it but there is no compression when you kick start it!

Problem with my Suzuki RF600 motorbike? On the way into work this morning coming down the motorway my fuel light came on so I switched my fuel dial to the reserve marker (usually have approx. 20 miles left), more or less instantly the bike started to splutter and die on me. I thought at first I hadn't turn the switch fully and had put it onto the off position but after checking I hadn't anyway after trying several times to start the bike it wasn't goin anywhere so my mate and me pushed oit to the petrol station and filled it. I tried to start the bike agian but it still wouldn't start after trying several times it started to drain the battery luckily I was near a garage and lent a pair of jump leads but still there was nothing in the bike. After bouncing it about a bit to get the fuel in the pipes the bike eventually started up but just about and as soon as I tried to give it some gas it cut out. I've now got the bike to work (on the back of a van) and checked the fuel pump and defo petrol going through it anyone any ideas?

motorbike speedometer cable? my speedometer doesn't work, only mileage and speed because the rest like watch lights work and appear fine, the cable on this motorbike isn't like i know in old cars from the wheel direct to the speedo board, the cable is actually from the front wheel to somwhere but not the speedo, the other end of the cable is in electrical wires one blue, red, yellow. so it's electronic. I think the cable is fine, I also think it could be that the rotor is broken but I want to know what could cause it not to work besides the rotor. also could it be linked to the gearbox? it's a motorbike suzuki burgman an400 year 2000

how do i remove sellotape glue from my motorbike paintwork? it is on a part of the bike that is not metal - the rear, and the paint is a lustrous blue (it is a suzuki sv650 year 2000) but i got sellotape on it and it left the glue on the paint. i don't want to harm the paintwork, so i got some muk off and tried it on it with no luck. I've heard rubbing alcohol will remove the glue, but i don't know if it will harm the paintwork. thanks for your answers, but 1) i live in the uk - goo gone is unheard of 2) wont petrol or acetone harm the paint?

Filling a motorbike battery with acid: do I use both strips of bottles? Hello folks. I got a new battery for my Suzuki SV650 today. It came with two strips, or racks, of plastic bottles (six in each) containing acid and the instructions only mention using one of these. Do i use both or is the second lot a spare or for topping up later? It is a sealed battery type. Also, one of the first six didn't empty, not pierced properly I guess. Should I take it off before this one empties? I have tried tapping it etc but can't get it to go in. Any advice?

How easy is it to change a throttle cable on a motorbike? I've got a Suzuki Tl1000R and the throttle cable has just gone. I'm quite mechanically minded and pretty much know what I'm doing but I've never done this specific job before. Begrudge paying the bike dealer £50 or more to fit a £10 cable. Which one to buy? Motorcycle parts costs? with different brands eg Honda,Suzuki and all the others which are the costly? brands?As i bought for example my car few yrs back a honda legend for $8,000 2nd hand 1990 model (low kms)and the ongoing repair costs have been a killer,for example to replace the honda engine for the 1990 model,a new one is with current pricings at $18,000 but in general i've spent thousands fixing different things on it,thousands i dont have..which for a student is rough financially. Indian bikes Vs Japanese Bikes, Which one is better? i am thinking of buying a motorbike, but i am lost, should i buy a brand new indian motorbike like bajaj pulsar or avenger or Tvs Apache etc, or should i rather go for a re-conditioned japanese motorbike such as suzuki bandit, honda rebel etc?. 2008 Suzuki GSX650F vs 2008 Hyosung GT650R vs 2003 Honda CBR600F? Hey, I narrowed my choice of bikes down but I really would appreciate some help from some wise heads. The new gsx650F looks great but its pretty heavy. Insurance should be cheapish - but the Hyosung looks good, fast, said to be fairly reliable and is £1000 cheaper plus even cheaper insurance. The CBR600F is awesome but very expensive to insure (offset slightly by cheaper 2nd hand model). I am planning on having an all-year round motorbike that looks sporty, goes fast and commutes well. I also realise that with Hyosung you need to change the brake lines, pads and rear shock as soon as you get it. Does anyone have any ideas? I keep changing my mind every few hours.

Capacitive Discharge Ignition(CDi) modification? Is there any cheap ways to modify the CDI system(lets say for a small motorbike) in order to get a desired timing curve? Currently the CDi that ive got(on a suzuki dr125) runs at 14degress at low rpm and will go up to 30degrees at high rpm. suzuki dr125 4 stroke.The reason why i want to modify is because i wanted the engine to run on alcohol.

I have a trickle charger that has a choice of 6v or 12v. which one do i choose and how long do i charge it for. Question for motorbike enthusiasts...? I had a lot of fun attempting to ride a friends Suzuki RM250, my first time ever, but its obviously not ideal for learning on!! I'd like to buy a bike to learn on and do my CBT, something that can go on and off road, I will be riding mostly off road but would like it to be road legal, so it would need to be 40bhp or less. no spark on motorbike...bike wont start? hi, i have a suzuki bandit 400v and a year ago it stoped working and wouldnt start there is no spark reaching plugs as i found when i tested it. i have replaced cdi, coils, plugs, pick up coils, battery. and still no luck. when it 1st stoped working it would show all lights and indicators and would turn over...just not fire.....no however it does nothing. please help thanks kerri ok checked battery...thankyou....i now have life but no firing. ne other ideas. ta
