is a flat bottom boat more stable? I want to buy a 12 or 14 ft. aluminum open fishing boat. This is for use in saltwater off the coast of B.C. nothing too far from shore. I am looking at Lund boats second hand.I see some are flat bottom. Is this much more stable? Also is the 14 ft. much more stable than the 12? There would be 2 of us at about 350 lbs total body wt. We would like to drag it to the water as opposed to boat launching. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

WHAT is more important to a BASS ANGLER: A name-brand boat, or his fishing skills? Would you rather own a "Ranger", "Skeeter", or "Triton"? Or own a "Stratus" or "Alumacraft", "Lund" ; AND have great fishing skills? Do you think the fish you catch know the difference between a "Ranger" boat and a "Lund" boat? Isn't perhaps your GEAR(rods, reels, electronic's, ETC), even more important than owning a "top of the line" name-brand boat? I currently own 2 boats(flats:"Carolina Skiff" & bass:"Lund") and have won quite a few tourneys in them. In the tourneys i've participated in, the "Ranger", Stratus", "Skeeter", "Triton", "Nitro", guys lose & win with the same regularity that people with off-brands do. It would seem that some believe the amount you paid for your boat equals your skills as an angler. Whats your take on the subject? good fish'n!

i want to repaint my aluminum boat? i have a 16 foot lund aluminum boat. I want to repaint it. Starting from now til completion what do I have to do? Details please. I know that i am going to be painting it OD Green so now wax or shiny stuff on it
Trailer wiring dilemma...read on? I have a 1978 Lund boat, complete w/trailer. I attempted to "redo" the old wiring, but now I've got one of those wiring kits. I just have the two lights on the back to worry about. I'm using a 4 prong plug on my 93 F-150 that I jumped off the wires to the 7 prong factory plug. On the trailer end, I took the yellow wire left, the green wire right, and then spliced the grounds on each light together & ran them to the white wire & grounded it. I took the pwr. wire to the right light, then jumped it to the left. Everything works until I turn on my headlights & turn signal. When I use the left signal it sometimes just completely goes out & when I use the right stays solid just as if I only had on the headlights. The same happens w/the truck's signals. What did I do wrong? Do I need to purchase different relays for my main fuse block on my truck? Thanks.
Need answers for a few questions for new boat!? I am purchasing a Lund 1750 Outfitter with either a 40 or 50 horsepower motor. I need to know how to determine what thrust on a trolling motor i need. I was thinking the new Minn Kota Terrovora 80/AP or the PowerDrive V2 70/AP? Im not sure if that is too much thrust? Another question is what motor a two or four stroke and what brand? Thanks in advance
Whats a good fish/ski boat? Well we would use it as a fishing boat for the most part, with a little bit of tubing and skiing. We are kind of set on a Lund, because they seem like the nicest/highest quality fishing boat. We live in Minnesota so we can basically get any boat you could possibly want. We looked at Crestliner and Alumicraft, and they just didnt seem as high of quality, and had a much lower re-sale value then the lunds. We are looking to keep it under $17,000. Right now we are thinking of going with a 1700 Explorer SS w/115 mercury. Good boat?? Any other boat Suggestions?? Thanks.
Transporting 12 foot aluminum? Hi I live in BC and I just got a crazy deal on a 12 foot Lund with 6.hp outboard.Im dying to buy but I cant find answers to a few questions, hope someone can help.. Is it ok to tie it to the roof of my Ford Explorer or do I need a trailer? If I do need a trailer, does it have to have breaks or signal lights? Any kind of lights? Is there anything regarding transporting the motor I should be aware of? Do I need a licence to operate the boat? Does the boat have to be registered or insured? Thank you so much for any info! Thanks,I mean,is it legal to tie it onto my roof? There is a rack,it says it can hold 250 pounds, its a factory rack and looks kinda flimsy...
