Bayliner boats? I've heard mixed reviews about Bayliner boats. Looking at a 2007-2008 Bayliner 175 or 185 runabout or ski/fish. For around 13,600 new for the 175, it seems like a great deal! So what is the truth? Is Bayliner really the bottom of the quality list? What makes a new Bayliner so much cheaper than any other boat?

Anyone have trouble with Bayliner Boats? Long story-Short; Bought a Brand new boat off the showroom floor at a boat show. Went to pick it up a few days later and the trailer looked like or old '79 trailer-rusted from the wrench to the tires. We told the dealership. We got not even a quarter mile down the road and the engine cover blew up, destroying the Bimini top and cracking the hull. the seats flew off and-lets just say we returned the boat. Dealership told us to take it home go out for the weekend and have fun. Problem after problem-returned more that 5 times! We only had it in the water a total of 6 times (3 weekends). The dealers excuse was they needed more time to fix all the problems. So, we handed the boat over to them in Aug...and the still have it-not finished- and will bayliner is refusing to help. Any suggestions or Advice-or encouragement-is welcomed! Thanks

Question about Bayliner boats.? I have been looking into buying a bayliner deck boat and like the 197 model. An 08' goes for around 23,000 but people keep telling me to stay away from Bayliner. If they are not good boats does anyone know of a comperable boat manufacturer in the same price range or less. I cant seem to find one that gives the same features and is as nice for that price.

Why are Bayliner speedboats so much less expensive than everything else? I have been looking at bowriders lately and I can't figure out what it is that makes the Bayliner boats so much less expensive than everything else. They would appear to have the same motor and out-drive as other boats, they aren't any smaller, and they seem to have many of the same features. I don't get it; help me out.

did bayliner put the 2 stroke motor on all the outboard boats in the 1989 year? i have a 100 hp merc on mine and i don't want to put mix gas in the bank of the boat if they did not put it like that from factory just in case i want to step up to a 4 stroke down the road. my motor is a 1962 merc 100hp 1000 runs like brand new .

Among fiberglass boats, if you had to choose among Bayliner, Starcraft or Glastron, which would you choose? I'm looking for a 16-17' bowrider for fishing, tubing, cruising, etc. for mainly lakes and rivers (very rarely in the ocean as I'm looking to move from the Southeast to the Great Lakes area). I'm also very preferential to MerCruisers which are available on all 3 of these boat makes. I've also seen a fair number of each make around, so I'm just curious to people's opinions.

I have a 1999 Capri Bayliner Boat, how would I list it so that I could sell it fast. I live in California.? I am going to try to sell my Bayliner Capri cuttycabin boat. I have had it for 3 years and have only used it a handful of times because my husband was hurt and we can't go on it anymore due to his disabilities. So we need to sell it we tried the boat trader but didn't have any luck. The boat is beautiful and works great. We have serviced it and kept it up, but we can't go out in it because of the ride [my husband had a back injury with surgery] So where is a great place to sell this boat? Small marine boat engines - Force or Mercruiser, in Bayliner Capri - which is better, and why? I've never really been a boat owner, other than some '60's fiberglass derelict at one time, with no title. Anyway, looking at a friend's boat that could have either a Force or Mercruiser engine. Which is better, has less problems, etc.? Probably late '80's or very early '90's engine. I don't know much about the Force, I'd never heard of it before yesterday, I've heard of many other brands, but that one is new to me. Ease of repair, parts locating, etc. advice sought for both Force or Mercruiser in Bayliner Capri.

1985 bayliner boat? this may be really hard to answer but we have a 1985 bayliner boat. it is a omc engine. the engine is inboard and and we need a outdrive for this boat it can be used but perferred new i just need a price range and where i can find one the model # is 983488 also is it possibile to find a parts list or diigram of the lower gear case with the part numbers or something like that (plz dont just say search google i have looked a lot and can find anything thank u so much to every one who answers

Sanfrancisco bay fishing in a 19ft bayliner? Is a 19 ft bayliner too small to venture into the bay. I was planning on adding a radio and a 9.9 outboard for always having an extra power mode. Is this boat to small. Its a 19ft cuddy cabin in great shape. Any advice. Excited to catch a halibit. Thx for your help.

Bayliner Capri quality - engine types, maintenance issues, etc? I'm looking at a boat, it is a small 14-16 foot Bayliner Capri, I don't have all the info on it yet as to size/year. However, after some internet research , it seems they can have serious quality issues with stringers, transom, engines, controls, etc. Here's what I know about it : - been garage kept inside, just dusty - supposedly has a bad Mercruiser motor ( IB/OB system? ) ,( unknown problem at this point ) - last registered in '96, so suspect it's a much earlier model. Now, here's what I'd LIKE to know about small Bayliner Capris : - what variety of motors came in the smaller ones ? I've seen Force, Mercruiser, Ford, and Chrysler listed on Ebay boats, to name a few. Are they all interchangeable, or do you have to swap out the Outdrive too, or can you just swap motors? Which are better? - If a motor swap, does it require custom or engine-specific mounts for each different type? - Asking $2,000. I figure maybe $500. Boat is probably sound. Your opinions, to pass or repair?

Does the Bayliner Capri 2003 has a breaker switch that keeps the engine from starting? When I turn the key on to start my boats' engine the speedometer needle moves upward there is a beep and the engine will turn but wil not start. The oil and battery indicators turn off. To get the oil and battery indicator to light up again I have to turn the ignition off and on and the cycle occurs again. Any ideas out there to what I need to check? I had the boat serviced about four months ago and had it in storage since than. Thasnk for any help you may porvide. Jose

question about boats? i have a 1988 bayliner classic that was not properly winterized i was wondering if any one knows if the 5.0 (305) block in the bayliners is a marine block or just a regular chevy block (the block froze and has cracked) and if any one knows any other use full information about bayliner boats and rebuilding the motors and ifs its straight forward like a truck motor or where i can find good information about it thanks....

Does anyone out there own a bayliner 2452 or 242? If so does it handle rough water well.? I know that bayliner had problems with certain boats in the past and gained a bad reputation becouse of it. I don't want to here from someone who has not personally had a bayliner. I am currently the owner of a sea ray 220 bow rider and have owned 6 other brands of boats from 10' to 23'. I have never owned a bayliner becouse of all the horror stories. Now I here that they have fixed there problems. I cant believe that Bayliner is the worst boat out there when they sell more boats than most of the competition combined.

I have a 5.7 liter Mercruiser motor out of a 2000 Rinker boat, will this motor fit into a 1996 Bayliner...? We recently bought a 2000 Rinker Skiboat with fire damage to the hull, but the motor is undamaged. So, in the process of trying to find another hull, we've come across a 1996 Bayliner Capri 1950 Bowrider. It's 19.5 ft. long. Now, with the searching I've done on the internet, all the same model Bayliners have a 3.0 motor, but the man who has the '96 Bayliner says the 5.7 motor will fit in it. With all the pictures I've seen of a '96 Bayliner, the boat looks to small to handle our 5.7 liter motor. Will it fit?

i have 1978 bayliner boat..i have cleaned the hull..will waxing the bottom improve its peformance any? the bottom was cleaned using an acid based cleanser and washed and rinsed.to remove the calcium and or algea build up...i was curious as to waxing with a hard bodied wax like used on surfboards

What is a good name for a Bayliner Boat? I just got a new boat and I'm wonder what a good name is. Some facts are: it's at Clear Lake IA -Its 19.5 ft long and a beam of 72 inches -I bought it faster than i normally buy something like this -It's got a tan and white interior -It was made in 1999 but is in new condition -it has a 135 horse motor - Well be using it for fishing, skiing and tubing Any names or ispiration would be helpful! Need help buying a boat and outboard - Bayliner Capri??? Hi all! I'm new to boat buying and would like to get some advice about buying a boat. I have pretty much decided that I'm looking for something like the Bayliner Capri around 18-20' with an open bow and outboard. I'm pretty much against inboard/outboard at this point, I don't want to deal with any potential repair bills for the I/O components, but if you think it would be better convince me!! It would be primarily used for lake use, water skiiing, some fishing, etc. with an occasional trip to salt water. I was hoping you all could recommend some boat/motor combinations. I heard that the Force outboards are no longer in business and parts are hard to come by which might be why there are so many on Craigslist. I'm trying to stay in the 5-6k range for price. I've heard some negative things about Bayliners. What specifically is wrong with them? I am looking for LOW maintanence, with a big emphasis on reliability! Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!
