Why cant other cars match Toyota quality price for price?
Lets face it - Toyota does well because it offers the best quality for the money - but why cant they be matched?

- Ever heard of Honda
- Because you get what you pay for. Toyota is higher priced in a lot of ways because it is quality and backs it's vehicles. They hold resale value due to that as does Honda and Nissan. I actually prefer Honda vehicles far more then Toyota.
- your on crack right!!!??!!!! toyota might be reliable for breaking down but in a wreak your 15 times more likely to not walk away!!! Ill stick with my Chevy's 34 mpg and safety record
- cuz the other companies are to cheap, to out run toyota.
- I have owned three Toyotas. I have never had problems with them, have fixed them up and given two of them to my kids. They are still running. Mine is driven over 250 miles a week, I live in Houston. I have only had it since 2001, bought new. I have over 110,000 miles on it because I drive it for my job. Other than maintenance that keeps it running like new, I have never ever had a breakdown. Neither of these Toyota cars has the American car rattles and squeaks. I will not ever drive another brand of car other than a Toyota.
- Wether the "quality" can be matched is up for debate but you shouldn't buy cars from a company that supports another country's economy. And dont give me this B/S that they are made in the US, because while that may be true, the company is located in Japan, thus your money ends up there. Please don't help a country that steals american jobs. My uncle worked at LTV steel untill it went under due to cheaper steel from japan. Japanese steel is both cheeper in price and qulaity. He now works as a stock boy at a garden center, hes 60 years old. To hell with Japan and all their companies.
- If you mean why can't Americans make a quality car at a good price? They will work for less overseas, that keeps the price down. American parts are inferior and nothing is being done to improve on that because they want the car repair and parts business. In the long run, you end up spending more on a cheap American car because of the repairs over the years. They do not want to match, they want us to keep spending and spending and spending.
- Hey Paaa, this here feller reckons them Toyotees is good cars. Why don't ya git yer assoutta the swamp an hitch up the mule so's us dumb yokels kin go n by one o them qualitee Toyotees..Nice one Jack
- Lets face it-Do not. I have one. It is a cheap tin can piece of crap. In fact I have the same opinion of a the overrated jap cars I have been in. Rant and rave all you want I will stick with American cars. I have never had any problems with them. I cannot say the same about Jap stuff.
- According to JD Power, Buick is of higher initial quality than Toyota. According to Consumer Reports, the 2004 Mustang is of equal quality to a 2004 Toyota Corolla. A better question would be: Why all the hype?
- Toyotas quality is way over rated. Its no better than any other major car companies and they have had and covered up some major quality problems (engine sludge on 4 cylinders, ball joints on truck and then again with the replacement ball joint).
- They are very good quality! Honda and Nissan makes very good cars as well. This Anti-Japanese bias is a joke! Take a look at the number invested in the U.S. economy by Honda, mind you it from the Honda site, but these are real numbers! A car built in America, by Americans with American sourced materials and suppliers is a American Car! Yes, many of the parts are made by Japanese companies in the U.S., but the are assembled by Americans as well. The Japanese are very loyal to their suppliers. GM buys Honda engines, GM rebrands Holden's, Hemi's engines are built in Mexico, Ford Fusions are rebadged Mazda's, Buick is a best selling car in China and built there, Pontiac and Chevy use Chinese built engines, GM has a partner ship in California with Toyota, Saturn rebadges European Opels and Dodge uses Hyundai/Mitsubishi developed engines.. This is world economy my friends! The Big 3 are closing plants and laying off workers, because of 20 years of poor quality and investing in slow selling trucks, not cars! They have improved allot and American cars are coming around...
