Can anyone give me their personal opinion on a Hyundai car. Are they any good. I am getting rid of my ford ZX2

My ford Zx2 (1999) has been nothing except costly $$ repair after repair. ( if all major parts breaking not cheap parts) I am considering buying a new (2006, 2007) Hyundai car. I would like the to hear from others who own one and which is the better Hyundai car they make. Are they really good? thanks.

  1. ahh i dunno i am from MI where the big three are located, and man jsut buy amercian and help us out
  2. I don`t own one but I know some of the more expensive ones are being compared to honda for quality.
  3. in my experience (i have never owned one though) i would not want to be in an accident in a hyundai, although reliability is ok
  4. Hyundai is becoming a very reputable company because of their initiative to improve constumer satisfcation and quality. A good ZX2 replacement would be a Hyundai Accent GT, that would be my first opinion.
  5. Hyundai is a good car i own a repair shop here in Tennessee and i don't get a lot of them to repair,,so that is a good sign,,they seem to be extremely good on repairs also,,what work i have had to do to them has been minor,,nothing major,,as for the ford you have,,your making a wise move,,they get a few miles on them,,and they start to give trouble,,most people get rid of them about 70.000 miles,,that seems to be a trouble point for them,, i hope this helps.
  6. Hyundai cars are really to tell you the truth stink. The transmission goes bad after about 6-7 years and then you have to get alot of costly maintenance work done after a year. I know this from experience. I have been a mechanic for 33 years and alot of hyundais came to the shop for repair work. The parts are very costly as well. P.S. If I were you I would buy a Toyota or Honda there are the best. Easy to maintain on a low budget I live In NEw york city where there are millions of cars
  7. WHY WOULD YOU WANT MORE PROBLEMS THEN WHAT YOU HAVE. I HAVE A CAR LOT YOU WOULD NEVER SEE A HYUNDIA ON THE LOT .THE CAR IS JUST PROBLEM, PROBLEM.
  8. yes they are great cars my wife and i bought a new sonata in 2004 and have had absolutely no problems with it. im actually looking at buying another one soon.
  9. I own two 2003 Hyundai Accents and couldn't be happier with them. Of course my opinion is a little biased, being a member of a Hyundai car club as well. As far as which model is better, it just depends on what you're looking for. Personally, I can't wait until I can get the 2007 Accent SE. I have no need to trade in my car yet, but I fell in love with the new Accent as soon as I saw it. I am planning on being a loyal Hyundai owner for the rest of my life, if that's any indication of how good they are.
  10. I'm currently undertaking a reserach project for hyundai. According to my statistical inferences, hyundai is considered to be the last quality car in the world. The cars may seem to be stylish, but it doesn't give value for your money. this is the genuine opinion on a survey taken with hyundai users across India. So, in my opinion you can always consider a better brand like Ford or Mitsubishi.
  11. I live in the land of the Big Two as well (sorry, no more big 3-the third is now a German company)... A great replacement for the Zx2 would be the Elantra GT. I test drove a Zx2 and an Elantra, no comparison. The biggest problem so far with Hyundai that I have experienced are the dealerships. As representatives of the manufacturer, they should have better standards of customer service than they do. As far as Ford and Mitsubishi being quality??? Well, suffice it to say you see firsthand how a Ford is built and Mitsubishi is still struggling after their H-file incident. If you are unaware, do a search on it. Interesting read.
