  5. It's my understanding (by someone who works for Ford) that they (Miatas) are still made in Japan. Ford owns the 'Miata' division of Mazda. But not ALL of Mazda. So, Ford owns a percentage of Mazda via the Miatas.....Does that make sense....lol Our dealership sponsor (of our Miata club) is 'Lincoln-Mercury-Mazda-Honda)

  7. Some are like the B series pickups, but some aren't like the rx-8 There is a lot of sharing of technology but Ford only owns 25% of Mazda last I heard
  8. Yes they are, check out a ford ranger and a mazda pickup ands put them side by side,look close and you soon will be convinced that they are mechanically and functionally the same.

  11. Ford owns a piece of mazda. The only mazdas that are rebaged fords are: the tribute (ford escape) and B-series trucks (ford ranger). Thats it. The mazda 3 uses the same platform as the UK ford focus and volvo s40. The ford fusion and lincon zepher use mazdas' 6 platform. The two companies also share some misc engines. So the answer is only 2 vehicles.

  13. Certain ford car are re badge Mazda car but with some cosmetic jobs.Ford has some share in Mazda corporation of Japan
  14. I can tell you this for a fact. My reserach on mazda6's - I have found out most mazda cars have ford engines. just as they sometimes look similar, - like the tribute/escape. Both have a conglomerate. Both make good cars. It' s actually helpful for the US market. But the japanese control 100 % production of the mazda's exported abroad.
  15. no. ford owns a 33% interest in mazda and the two companies share technologies and swap parts. However mazda has its own plants and ford has its own plants. Many mazda vehicles are also built in japan and shipped here with very few parts borrowed technologically from ford. For instance the rx-8 shares one component with ford vehicles...its horn.
