Why Toyota cars/trucks/SUVs/old/new have the "SR5'' badge ?

Public Comments

  1. have no clue
  2. SR5 stands for Sport Ralley 5 Speed. This is simply an upgrade trim package that was available similar to a Ford Lariat or a Chevy Silverado. Earlier model trucks had bucket seats, additional gauges/tach, stripes, carpet floors, and cloth interior. Later model trucks, although still SR5s, may have come with automatic transmissions. SR5 models do not necessarily come with air, tilt, chrome trim, power steering, or sun roof. Trucks with the SR5 package can usually be identified by finding an 'S' in the VIN code.
  3. Toyota 4Runner SUV...I think I might have seen it on a Tacoma pickup as well. Hope this helps!
  4. For corolla, thought SR5 was just the more econical version of the GTS.
  5. Ronnie is correct. It started out as a 5 speed with interior and exterior upgrades, but now you can get sr5 models with automatics.
