What is mean by VTi which is written by HONDA on its cars?

What is mean by VTi which is written by HONDA on its cars? like Civic VTi? How it is different from Civic EXi? And what are the advantages of VTi over EXi?

2. Vti stands for Variable transmission or what I like to call "very terrible invention." VTI transmission works kind of like a snowmobile so you do not feel a shift you have constant power. It works fine on a lightweight snowmobile but a car is too heavy and there have been many problems with it.
3. The VTi grade is a particularly fuel-efficient model that also provides relatively high power output of 88kW

VTi on honda means variable timing ignition....where in the fuel flow and the ignition pattern is controlled by a microcontroller with the help of inputs from a lot of sensors that are attached to the engine and the transmission this helps in saving fuel and adding more power to the vehicle.....the exact algorithm followed in this implementation will be available with only honda engineers....but what i can guess it that e.g. when u are simply cruising.....the fuel supply can be minimized so as to save it....and when power is required.....the processor injects more fuel with the help of valves into the cylinder....
