BMW Motorbike Import. USA to Ireland?

Basically i was hoping people could share their opinions and knowledge on importing a BMW Motorbike (im not sure which one yet as im just starting to get into them) from America to Ireland and whats involved or is it cheaper to just buy in Ireland. Im vaguely aware of the different things you have to go through when involved with importing but i know im missing something and cant figure out which is cheaper. Thanks loads. :)

2. You need to find out the tax (Import tax) in Ireland. It will be based on bike value and size.
3. Importing a motorcycle into Ireland will have two costs: 1: Transportation from the U.S. 2: Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT) on importation into Ireland. VRT is dependent on the model and age of the vehicle. I recently imported from the U.K. a 1993 BMW K75S which cost me less than $300 in VRT.
